Context
“Melting Borders: Glacier Governance in the Hindu Kush Himalayas” is a case study in the Berggruen Institute's Planetary Compendium. I developed the immersive map for this chapter.
What I built
I built the interface for switching map layers and opening thematic research boards. The boards cover climate change, ecology and livelihoods, transboundary water governance, and geospatial data. Map markers locate dams, recent conflict and mountain passes.
Recognition
The Planetary Compendium received an Honorary Mention in Digital Humanity at Prix Ars Electronica 2026 (team project).
Experience
Visitors can toggle glacier status, boundaries, settlements, rivers, river basins and glacial lake outburst flood data over satellite terrain.
Thematic case files

On the climate change board, visitors can move documents around, watch video references and listen to audio commentary.
