About instruments

I have made music software under the name Aylesim Devices since 2018: Max for Live devices for Ableton Live and, from [needs: release date], plugins. I design the interfaces, write the patches and code, and write the manuals. If something breaks, email me and I will fix it: ay@alessandromiracapillo.com

Max for Live devices are available on Gumroad and Isotonik Studios. [needs: where the plugin will be sold]

Aylesim Devices

My label for Max for Live devices for Ableton Live.

  • Role: Founder. Interface and interaction design, patching and code, releases, store pages, manuals and support.
  • Stack: Max/MSP, gen~, JavaScript, Max for Live, Live API.
  • What it involves: I answer user feedback myself, and many updates started as user requests.
  • Outcome: 3,700+ downloads and sales on Gumroad, about $9,800 in revenue. Also sold through Isotonik Studios. Press: Create Digital Music (Freesound4Live, 2020), Rekkerd (Knob Studio, 2024; Birds, 2026).

Birds (2026). Generative MIDI sequencer. The melody is drawn as birds on wires, and it drifts from the original within a limit you set. Buy on Gumroad [needs: manual PDF link] Watch video

Knob Studio (2024). Modulation device. Layered functions form one waveform, and reading heads send its values to any mapped parameter. Buy on Gumroad Watch video

Disco [needs year; site says 2022]. Multi-tap delay with per-tap gain, pan and on/off in a circular layout. The taps rotate together or separately, by hand or by LFO. Buy on Gumroad Watch video

Freesound4Live (2020). Search and load samples from Freesound.org inside Ableton Live, with Freesound account login. Covered by Create Digital Music. [needs: current store link; whether it is open source] Watch video

Lucky Notes (free) [needs year]. MIDI effect that lets notes through by probability, so a pattern can start sparse and get denser without editing clips. Listed in the ELPHNT Max for Live Curated Collection. Download free

Plugins (VST)

[needs: name] ([needs: release date]). A plugin version of Disco, the spinning delay: 16 delay voices that rotate in a circular layout, with a rotation LFO. Formats: [needs: formats]. [needs: link]
